Mercedes-Benz USA approached our founder, Joseph Buzzetta Sr., about opening a silver-starred dealership in Smithtown, New York. Located in the present-day Competition BMW, Buzzetta Sr. and Oscar Rubio dropped the pre-existing Porsche franchise and opted to represent and sell the iconic, profitable Mercedes-Benz vehicles. In 1988, Joe split with the business with Oscar, securing the Mercedes-Benz and the BMW brand, with new, exciting plans to open an INFINITI dealership as well!
In 1995, Mercedes-Benz of Smithtown officially separated from its shared showroom with BMW and moved into an exciting new location closeby!
Mercedes-Benz of Smithtown situated itself at 630 Middle Country Road, where our dealership actively resides now. From originally selling BMW, Datsun and Mercedes-Benz vehicles out of the original 599 Middle Country Road building, to moving right down the road to 630 Middle Country Road, Saint James, NY 11780 and selling exciting Mercedes-AMG vehicles, luxurious Mercedes-Maybach vehicles, Earth-loving Mercedes-Benz hybrid/Electric Vehicles, eye-catching new and pre-owned Mercedes-Benz vehicles, and fabulous off-brand vehicles, Mercedes-Benz of Smithtown is proud to continue to share our passion with the Saint James community!
