Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed Enters Final Testing Phase

Mercedes-Benz of Smithtown has reported on the exhilarating unveiling of the Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed Concept Vehicle in Monaco this past May, where F1 stars George Russell and Lewis Hamilton showcased this groundbreaking AMG monster. Since then, anticipation for the PureSpeed Concept Vehicle has only grown as Mercedes-Benz moves closer to turning this vision into reality.

Now, with the official announcement of its production, Competition Auto Group is thrilled to highlight what makes the PureSpeed an exceptional addition to Mercedes-Benz’s prestigious lineup.
Unveiling Mercedes-Benz’s Latest Masterpiece
The PureSpeed isn’t just another vehicle; it’s a bold statement in automotive innovation and performance. As the first model in Mercedes-Benz’s new Mythos series—a collection of low-volume, highly-specialized vehicles—the PureSpeed is poised to redefine the boundaries of speed and design. With only 250 units planned, each meticulously crafted, this speedster represents the height of exclusivity and engineering excellence.

A Tribute to Speed
The PureSpeed’s design philosophy is unapologetically centered on raw performance and thrilling driving experiences. Ditching traditional elements, the PureSpeed forgoes both a roof and windshield. Instead, it features small wind deflectors in front of the cabin, directing airflow over the occupants’ heads. While innovative, helmets will be essential for those venturing beyond city speeds, ensuring safety while embracing the ultimate driving thrill.

Further reinforcing its racing heritage, the PureSpeed is equipped with a halo protection system similar to those in Formula 1. This, combined with rollover hoops behind the seats, adds an extra layer of safety by deflecting potential debris and safeguarding the occupants during high-speed maneuvers.

Unfiltered Performance and Power
Under the hood, the PureSpeed is expected to house a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 engine. Mercedes-Benz has opted to forgo hybrid technology for this model, focusing instead on delivering a pure, unfiltered driving experience.

The SL-Class’s top-tier powertrain, which reaches 805 horsepower in the SL 63 S E Performance plug-in hybrid, hints at the potential performance figures, though the PureSpeed will be finely tuned to emphasize its speedster identity.
Crafting Perfection with Pininfarina:
Mercedes-Benz isn’t tackling this project alone. Mercedes-Benz has partnered with Pininfarina, renowned for its exceptional work in low-volume, coachbuilt vehicles. This collaboration ensures that the Mercedes-PureSpeed will not only meet but exceed the high standards of Mercedes-Benz’s engineering and design.

The Future
The PureSpeed marks the beginning of the Mercedes-Benz Mythos series, a strategic initiative to shift focus towards lower-volume, high-margin vehicles.

Alongside future Mythos models, Mercedes-Benz is also expanding its offerings through its Mercedes-AMG and Mercedes-Maybach sub-brands, with a Mercedes-Maybach SL having been recently unveiled.

As the PureSpeed moves closer to its production phase, the anticipation is building immensely. It’s more than a car; it’s a symbol of Mercedes-Benz’s commitment to automotive luxury and immense excellence.
