Competition Subaru of Smithtown's passionate General Manager, James, brought his rally car! Terry and Yaki, a local Halal food truck, brought delicious rice, salad, steak and tofu bowls. With dietary options for everyone, Terry and Yaki helped make Competition Subaru's summertime Motorsports Car Show that much more successful! Tim is a local Long Island resident. Tim had been travelling around Long Island without a vehicle, or a license, for 9 years. Tim has been unable to drive for almost a full decade due to his need of a wheelchair-accessible van. Coincidentally, one of our dealership's Principal, Joe, was casually driving along the local Ronkonkoma, Blue Point and Ridge roads when fate led him to Tim. Tim was also enjoying the local Long Island area. Differing from Mr. Buzzetta, Tim was not traveling in a vehicle, he was taking strides in his remote wheelchair. As fate would have it, Joe had his father’s, and deceased founder’s, handicap-accessible 2020 Honda Odyssey van on hand. Competition Auto Group and Competition BMW are indescribably proud to donate Joe Buzzetta Sr.’s wheelchair-accessible van to Tim! Tim is so excited to gain back access to his license, and most importantly, a grander scale of independence! Competition Auto Group is proud to join Competition INFINITI, Competition BMW, Mercedes-Benz of Smithtown, Mercedes-Benz of Huntington, and Competition Subaru of Smithtown in collecting non-perishable donations for Long Island Cares, Inc. All of our stores will be humbly collecting non-perishable donations until Thursday, the 16th of November 2023. Long Island Cares, Inc., is one of almost 200 food banks across America that provides food to those who are unfortunately impacted by food insecurity and hunger. LI Cares began by serving a small number of insecurity agencies in both Suffolk and Nassau County. Today, Long Island Cares, Inc., is capable of much more movement! LI Cares distributes more than 10 million pounds of supplies and food to over 400 different agencies just to Long Island alone! For the year of 2023, Long Island Cares, Inc., will be requesting non-perishable items such as: low-fat, boxed and non-refrigerated milk, toilet paper, canned vegetables, instant mashed potatoes, boxed dessert mix and more!
