October is Subaru Loves Pets month, and we’re celebrating by giving back to shelter pets in need. Through the end of the month, Subaru is donating $10 to the ASPCA® for every Genuine Subaru Pet-friendly Accessory sold online*! The amount raised will add to the $30+ million donated to animal welfare organizations since the inception of the Subaru Loves Pets initiative. Subaru Loves Pets A core principle of our Subaru Loves Pets initiative is an ongoing commitment to help all pets find their perfect, loving home. We stand by this commitment through a scale of actions; from supporting local pet-adoption efforts to being the ASPCA’s largest corporate donor. Although new to the Electric Vehicle scene, the Mercedes-Benz EQS has exceeded many drivers across the world’s expectations by going above and beyond what is considered the norm for many EV’s that have been coming to the market as of recently. If you have read our Mercedes-Benz EQS Information Page, then you would most likely agree that this vehicle is not your average electric sedan. Modeled after it’s non-electrical counterpart, the S-Class; the vehicle strives to be luxurious in the best way, to truly match up to the German company’s flagship vehicle. The EQS has lived up to the hype with praise from various sources, one of them being German auto magazine Auto Motor und Sport, who called it the “best electric car in the world” in comparison to the Tesla, Audi, BMW, Bollinger, and more. This was reported by The Driven in one of their latest auto blogs, “Better Than Tesla”: New Mercedes-Benz Electric EQS Ranked “Best EV in World”. The German magazine company noted various aspects of the EQS, beginning with the intelligent electric route planning implemented in the vehicle, due to the fact that many electric cars still have not put this amenity into their navigation systems. Another aspect includes the quiet car’s record for the lowest aerodynamic drag coefficient of 0.20, making the EQS “at least two dimensions above a Tesla Model S” according to the review. Among many other points, Auto Motor und Sport lastly mentions the electric vehicle’s outstanding efficiency. A range of 300km can easily be charged in 15 minutes according to their experience, beating the Tesla Model S in terms of range and efficiency. All in all, with the amazing technology such as the Hyperscreen, the sleek design, efficiency, and more, the German magazine concluded the EQS is “the really best electric car in the world!” as read through a quick Google Translate. According to them, “The engineers have given everything to be as comfortable, economical, efficient and contemporary as possible”. When asked “Does that mean that electric pioneer Tesla is beaten? “ they responded with “Simple answer: yes. That is exactly the direction in which electro-mobility must go”. As many Mercedes-Benz and Tesla drivers around the Huntington area wonder when walking past the Tesla dealership in the Walt Whitman Mall, “What electric vehicle is the best in 2021?”, it seems that there has been a clear answer; Look out Elon Musk! The Paige Elizabeth Keely Foundation is a nonprofit 501c3 (EIN-84-5024812) organization that was created in honor of Paige Keely, who passed away at the age of 6, due to a brain arteriovenous malformation (AVM). Early AVM detection can help to change the course of this disease. Competition Subaru is proud to support the Paige Keely Foundation at the Wave of Change Gala on October 6th 2021. The Paige Keely Foundation Founder and President Gina Keely created The Paige Elizabeth Keely Foundation in hopes to increase funding for early AVM detection and to raise awareness for AVM’s, educate communities about this treatable condition, and to establish early detection screening programs. The Foundation is working on opening a Brain Imaging Center here on Long Island.  This will open so many doors for early detection of not only Brain AVM’s, and Aneurysms, but will also detect other unknown conditions someone may have.  Our imaging center will allow any child or adult, insured or not, to have the ability receive MRA imaging. What Are Pediatric AVMs? Arteriovenous Malformations (AVMs) are abnormal tangles of arteries and veins that can occur anywhere in the body. These abnormalities are typically congenital and are present at birth. They usually are not detected unless they cause seizures, weakness, or have ruptured and bled in the brain. Neurologic or life threatening sequelae are associated with each hemorrhage. There is a 4% per year risk of hemorrhage once an AVM has become symptomatic. Treatment is required to reduce that risk and subsequent problems associated with additional hemorrhage. Treatment for AVMs can be quite complex and it is critical that patients with this disorder be managed and surgically treated in a center with extensive AVM experience. Causes of Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM) The cause of Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM) is not known. AVMs are thought to be congenital (present at birth), and researchers believe that they may arise from developmental derangements at the embryonic stage of vessel formation (at the fetal stage). However, this theory has never been clearly established, and some researchers believe that AVMs may arise after birth. Unlike the association of head trauma, or other injuries with the development of dural arteriovenous fistulae (DAVF), there are no known environmental risk factors for AVMs. Most AVMs are termed "sporadic," which implies that they arise spontaneously without a specific gene mutation being passed on from parent to child. There is no clear familial inheritance, except in families with Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia (HHT). HHT patients are at some 10,000 fold higher risk of developing a brain AVM than the non-HHT population. Importance of Early Detection Screening & Scanning Identifying and treating Brain Arteriovenous Malformations & Aneurysms before they rupture can and will save lives. If Brain AVM’s & Aneurysms rupture, effective treatment becomes more difficult, and generally a person's chances of surviving are much lower. Brain AVM’s & Aneurysms that have not ruptured typically have little to no symptoms, until it’s too late. Wave of Change Gala The Paige Keely Foundation is hosting their upcoming Wave of Change Gala on October 6th 2021. The purpose of the Gala is to honor Paige, AVM Awareness month and to raise funding for our imaging center.  All the proceeds of the Gala will be used to fund two MRA imaging machines. WHAT DOES IT MEAN IF MY CAR IS IN TRANSIT? If your vehicle is in transit, it means a designation for vehicles that have come off the assembly line but have not yet arrived at the dealership. Depending where the model line is produced the vehicle can arrive at the dealership within 3-30 days. The vehicle will then be considered in transit until it has arrived at your dealership. WHAT DOES IN TRANSIT MEAN FOR A FACTORY ORDER? If you purchase a vehicle that is not in stock our dealer may be able to custom order from the factory. Once your vehicle is built in the factory it waits to be delivered. Once the vehicle leaves the factory then it is considered “In Transit” Your Sales Consultant will then provide you with updates on the status of your vehicle.
